- Bring 2 quarts of water to a boil, reduce to a simmer.
- Add about 1/4 cup of Chaga chunks (1-2 medium chunks) to the water, cover and simmer at a low temperature for up to 8 hours (yes, hours!). While you get good benefits from Chaga after only 5 minutes of simmering, the longer you do it, the better.
(Note: Do NOT boil the Chaga, this will only reduce its potency. - Once ready, strain the Chaga tea into your cup or thermos.)
- Enjoy the tea! It has a very mild 'woodsy' flavor and is excellent served hot or iced. Add lemon, honey and mint for a nice naturally sweetened tea.
NOTE: You can reuse the Chaga chunks 4 or 5 times. Each brew will be a little less strong, but should still have a good amount of useful ingredients left. After you're done with the chunks, let them dry and burn them as a natural incense--Chaga has a lovely scent.
